The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are apparently getting company – namely from two Pixel 3 Lite variants. They will supposedly rely on a polycarbonate design, while keeping the legendary camera of the expensive originals. Here’s everything we know about the design and the technical specs of the Pixel 3 (XL) Lite so far.
A new mysterious video, supposedly of the Pixel 3 Lite in action has appeared. It is by Ukrainian tech blog Andro News. Their YouTube channel is only days old, which might be suspicious, however the phone in the video itself is quite convincing. The narrator claims it is a pre-production sample they managed to get their hands on.
As you can see, the video largely confirms information available from previous leaks, especially in terms of specs. Andro News claims the Pixel 3 Lite will have 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a Snapdragon 670 processor. In terms of cameras, there’s a single 8 MP front sensor and a 12 MP one on the back. More interestingly, the video claims they will provide the same quality as those on the original Pixel 3.
In terms of audio, a single speaker has migrated to the bottom of the frame, while the headphone jack has made a return, as previously rumored. However, there is no mention of an XL Lite variant. The video goes on to claim that we should expect to see the Pixel Lite on the market some time this spring. We’ll have to wait and see.

Onleaks and technology blog 91mobiles have rendered a 360-degree preview of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL based on current rumors. The polycarbonate versions of the luxury smartphones are finally visible from all angles. What do you think of the new design of the budget flagships?
The video is followed by some 5K stills that compare the devices with each other and with the normal Pixel 3 XL. The Pixel 3 Lite should have a 5.5 inch screen and the Pixel 3 XL Lite is almost 6 inches. The popular analog 3.5 mm headphone jack should also be making a return. The casing, however, is made of polycarbonate instead of glass, which can significantly contribute to the lower price.
Polycarbonate not only lowers the price, but it makes repairs more viable in the future. If you look at the prices for new glass panes for top devices such as the Galaxy S9 or the iPhone XS, the purchase of a Pixel 3 Lite could be the better long-term decision.
Not much else is known about Pixel 3 Lite yet, although a Russian blog is already showing some photos of the new Google smartphone. It looks very similar to the Pixel 3 and also has a display without a notch. Inside there should be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 and 4 of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
This would be a little tight in terms of storage, especially since there is apparently no microSD slot. However, since Google’s main goal with photos and videos is for users to outsource as many things as possible to the cloud, they could make do with it for a while in everyday life.
The Pixel 3 Lite camera is no lightweight
However, Google does not seem to be stingy on the most important criterion for many users. If information from the often well-informed Ben Geskin is correct, then the same camera will be used on the Pixel 3 Lite as on the other two current Google smartphones.
Google Pixel 3 Lite is a simplified version of the Pixel 3 with a plastic body and a less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor. It has 4/32 GB of memory, no memory card slot. But camera is the same as in pixel 3.

If this is true, then the Lite Pixel 3 model could become an instant hit. The Pixel camera is considered one of the best smartphone cameras you can buy thanks to the new night mode. If the Lite smartphone actually has the same qualities as the more expensive originals, it can only be a success story for Google.
Considering the cutbacks in memory and processor, the price should be around $ 400 to $ 500. But that’s all speculation at the moment – we will have to wait for the full reveal to know the official price.
