YouTube celebrities — most notably ones like Logan Paul — have been at the forefront of the YouTube cultural conscience in recent years. From the content they produce to their personalities and sometimes controversy, the people who create and post videos on YouTube have become major cultural influencers outside of the internet bubble. But with billions of users and hundreds of hours of content being uploaded to the video-sharing platform every minute, which YouTubers are viewers most loyal to? The answers might surprise you, especially when you consider celebrities like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Ed Sheeran didn’t quite make the cut.
From musicians to streamers, pranksters to reviewers, and more, these are the 10 most subscribed YouTube channels out there (excluding YouTube-generated channels like Music or Spotlight).

10: Badabun (39 million subscribers)
The only new entry in the top-1o this month, Badabun is the most subscribed Mexican YouTube channel and the most subscribed Spanish-speaking YouTube channel. Known for its videos where the hosts interview members of the public on a variety of subjects (though particularly their faithfulness), the channel was launched in 2014 and earned its first million subscribers at the end of 2016.
To date, it has more than 12 billion video views and although it has some way to go to take the number nine spot on our list, it has shown explosive growth earning as many as three million subscribers in January 2019 alone.
9: Dude Perfect (42 million subscribers)
Dude Perfect is a comedy sports group that consists of “5 Best Friends and a Panda.” Twins Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones, and Tyler Toney — all former roommates and high school basketball players — started the channel in 2009.
Since then, the group has uploaded over 200 videos. The members of the group also hold several Guinness World Records, including several for basketball, as well as records for the most T-shirts hung on a washing line using pegs in one minute, and most pencils snapped in one minute.
8. Justin Bieber (46 million subscribers)
Justin Bieber has the seventh most-subscribed channel on YouTube and though he’s slipped down the ranks lately, is still a force to be reckoned with. His channel compiles official music videos, live performances, and interviews for his 45 million subscribers to enjoy. Bieber, who began singing in 2007 at the age of 12, has several videos that have been viewed over a billion times each.
Although never posted on his official YouTube channel, Bieber also contributed to a remixed version of the hit 2017 song, “Despacito,” which has garnered more than 640 million views since its release in 2017, making Bieber one of the most watched artists on the video-sharing site. The original track is the most watched video in the history of YouTube, receiving over 6 billion views.
7. WWE (48 million subscribers)
World Wrestling Entertainment, or better known as WWE, is the eighth most-subscribed YouTube channel, with 43.9 million subscribers. It features all episodes from Monday Night Raw, TV’s longest running weekly episodic program. WWE has over 1,500 videos to choose from. The channel started in 2005, although the WWE (previously known as WWF) was founded in 1979.
WWE features behind the scenes footage and SmackDown LIVE every Tuesday night. With updated content nearly every day, WWE is slowly climbing the most subscribed YouTube channel list.
Konrad Cunha Dantas, otherwise known as KondZilla, is a Brazilian music video producer, director, and writer who has directed over 700 music videos. According to his YouTube channel, he is the largest producer of electronic music in Brazil. His YouTube channel, which Dantas started in 2012, has over 48 million subscribers and over 23 billion views.
Dantas has worked with artists such as MC Guime, Preta Gil, Koral Conká, DJ Marlboro, and more. His work on the music video “Tombei,” by Koral Conká, was nominated for Best Music Video at the 2015 Multishow Awards. The video has been viewed over 26 million times.
5. SET India (56 million subscribers)
Sony Entertainment Television India is a 24-hour Hindi-specific channel that provides hours of content for the entire family — if your family enjoys Indian entertainment. With 48.7 million subscribers this channel originally pushed out artists Taylor Swift and Katy Perry from the top 10. Launched as a station in 1995, SET India has been on YouTube since 2006.
This channel includes comedy specials like The Kapil Sharma Show and police dramas like Crime Patrol. With over 31,000 videos to choose from, the SET India channel has a wide range of popular content.
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes is a channel that focuses almost entirely on classic children’s nursery rhymes set to 3D animation, as well as some original songs. Originally called ABCkidTV, it’s one of the longest-running top channels on YouTube, having published its first video in September 2006. It saw steady growth over the years, but its popularity exploded in 2017, where it began to garner more than 100,000 new subscribers a month.
With an average of three million new subscribers every month, this channel is quickly climbing the ranks and could be one of the top few channels in the not-too-distant future. Clearly a controversial channel, however, Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes has one of the 12 most disliked videos of all time. The Cocomelon “Bath Song” has more than 1.6 million dislikes, alongside its 1.45 billion views.
Launched less than three years ago, 5-Minute Crafts has surpassed some of the most popular YouTube channels, like whinderssonnunes and elrubiusOMG. The simple how-to channel has more than 50 million million subscribers. With videos like “20 bathroom hacks to make life easier” and “35 unbelievable cooking hacks,” there is something for everyone.
5-Minute Crafts has near-3,000 videos that have been viewed over 13 billion times. With nearly two million new subscribers every month there is a chance it could eventually be number one, but it’s got a long way to go to break into the top two.
2. PewDiePie (101 million subscribers)
After a long time on top, PewDiePie is now only the second-most subscribed YouTube channel, with over 96.2 million subscribers. Created in 2010 by Swedish comedian Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, the PewDiePie YouTube channel is best known for its “Let’s Play” videos and blogs, as well as Kjellberg’s following. His content has been described as goofy, obnoxious, and filled with profanity. He could also be considered quite a controversial figure.
After dropping out of college to focus on creating content, PewDiePie surpassed one million subscribers just two years after his channel’s creation. Kjellberg’s influence on the social network has also had a positive effect on the sales of indie video games, particularly Goat Simulator and McPixel.
He maintained a feud with now most-subscribed channel, T-Series, throughout much of 2018. They stole the top spot position from each other multiple times, but Kjellberg eventually capitulated and has now fallen far enough behind that it would take something quite special for him to retake the top spot. That said, his subscriber numbers are still strong, and he seems almost certain to become the second channel to pass 100 million subscribers. Likely sometime in the latter-half of 2019.
1. T-Series (111 million subscribers)
Finally eclipsing the long-time YouTube king is T-series, a popular Indian music company with more than 100 million subscribers and 2.7 billion monthly views, making it the most-subscribed and most-viewed YouTube channel in the world. It was also the first channel to ever reach 100 million subscribers and unsurprisingly, is the most subscribed Hindi-language and Indian YouTube channel. The T-series channel is best known for its Bollywood music soundtracks.
While the T-series channel has been around since 2006 (YouTube started in 2005), the T-series company, which runs the channel, has been around since the 1980s. The company’s breakthrough came in 1990, with the film soundtrack album, “Aashiqui.” The soundtrack sold over 20 million units in India, making it the best-selling Bollywood album of all time.
