Starting today, the extensive update 2.0 for “Star Wars Battlefront 2” on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 is available for download.
Overview of the in-game progress system
- Linear Progress: Star charts and all other items that affect gameplay can only be earned through gameplay and can not be purchased. Instead, the player receives experience points for the classes, hero characters, and ships that can be played in multiplayer. When enough experience points are gained to move up a level with this unit, the player gains a skill point that unlocks or enhances the allowable star card to be equipped.
- Unlocks and achievements: All star cards, heroes, weapons and other items that the player has already received remain in place and can be used after the update.
- Altered Crates: Crates no longer contain star cards and can not be purchased. After the update, boxes are only available with daily log-on, completed milestones and mastered challenges with a time limit. The boxes contain credits or cosmetic items such as emotes or winning poses, but no content relevant to the gameplay.
- Cosmetic changes: From April, the look can be bought directly with in-game credits or crystals. The first new skins will be released soon and will be obtained with in-game credits or crystals purchased in-game and in first-party stores. So if you ever wanted to be part of the resistance as a Rodian, you will soon have the opportunity.
